About the Banff Canoe Club

Canoeing is a special sport and we truly believe everyone should have access to this wonderfully Canadian way to explore the water. At the Banff Canoe Club we strive to provide Banff’s residents and visitors with the opportunity to connect with the sport of canoeing and the beautiful place we are fortunate to call home.

The Banff Canoe Club is a professionally managed organization committed to engaging the community in the sport of canoeing and connecting people to Banff National Park. The Bow River Canoe Docks is more than just another business in Banff; it’s an inclusive hub of the community, a place to relax and take in the serene surroundings. Our goal is to make canoeing an affordable activity, enjoyed by residents and visitors alike. We rent canoes, kayaks and Standup Paddleboards from the docks. Our boat house is stocked with Banff Canoe Club souvenirs, a way for visitors to remember their canoe experience and time in Banff National Park. See the map below for location details.

WHERE TO PADDLE

The Banff Canoe Docks are located on the banks of the beautiful Bow River. From the docks, paddlers can choose to explore the gentle section of the Bow River or follow forty mile creek into Vermilion Lakes.

The Vermilion Lakes are a series of lakes located immediately west of Banff in the Bow River Valley. They offer wildlife viewing opportunities and breathtaking scenery. Soak up the sun as you gaze at the impressive Mount Rundle - one of Banff's most recognizable mountains.
